“Tritonal is a mixture of 80% TNT and 20% aluminium powder, used in several types of ordnance such as air-dropped bombs. The aluminium improves the brisance of the TNT – the speed at which the explosive develops its maximum pressure. Tritonal is approximately 18% more powerful than TNT alone.”
Taken from Wikipedia.org, this definition certainly explains the mass success this Texas based duo has experienced in a very recent past. With tracks signed to Flashover, Armada, Coldharbour, AVA Recordings and now Stellar Sounds, there is truly nothing standing in their way!
This latest effort, sadly, doesn’t make use of Christina Soto’s angelic voice, but instead highlights their impeccable production skills and ability to bring throngs of dancers to ecstasy. The title track ‘Kinetic’ features some Andy Moor-esque vocal effects and stabs, and joining it is a clear and crisp ‘Air Up There Mix‘. As an added bonus (I suppose), the duo have tacked on a third track, titled ‘Collapse‘, that rounds things up nicely and reminds me an aweful lot of Let Solitude.

Van der Vleuten, short for Joost van der Vleuten, is a dutch dj and producer who grew up loving the music, and after a short stint in the army, jumped head first into the dance music scene. He literally hasn’t looked back since! With releases slated on Conspiracy Recordings, Stellar Sounds (duh), Cloud 9, No Smoking Recordings and more he’s proving to many around the world that he’s world class.
Above Tide is a smooth little number, and along with it is a Progressive Mix, sure to cater to both trance purists and those looking for something a little deeper and genre bending.

This young and talented dutch producer lands on Stellar Sounds for their 4th release, providing a tasty trance duo just in time for WMC. Maarten’s been releasing original productions and remixes since 2006, and his sound is hard to describe, often ranging from heavily melodic trance (Escape on Enhanced Progressive) to some heavier tech-trance (Black Mamba remix on Octavius).
These latest tracks take a bit from both camps, some definite hand raising melodies abound in ‘Caramel Conclusions’, while ‘Lightning Buzzyear’ twists the sound a bit to amp up the energy and give it a little more edge. Read on past the break for high quality samples!
And for the first time ever on MusiCritics.com, we’re letting you tell us which track you liked the most! Check out the poll after the break.
This was bound to happen…Me and Andre reviewed the same thing on accident. XD
Instead of offering up an elaborate introduction, I’ll just say that Maarten rocks. I found this excerpt online (Don’t remember where) that sums up Maarten quite nicely, so here it is:

I first discovered Topher when I heard his collaboration with Blake Jarrell on their bootleg remix of Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol. Since then, his sound has matured and his productions are being canned by some of the world’s best DJs.
His latest offering, released on Stellar Sounds (sublabel of Intuition Recordings) is vibrant, crisp and bouncy. Young Life focuses on creating a smooth sound that carries the melody, while on the B-Side, we’re treated to something a little more energetic and original in it’s sound and structure.
Up next is the latest offering from the Intuition camp (No, this one was released a couple days ago, as opposed to a couple months ago, Andre ). Cesar Lugo hails from Mexico, and this is his debut EP on Stellar Sounds: Angel Moon and Appearance! With the exception of Topher Jones and Arney S., we haven’t seen a real barrage of Intuition talent hailing from the western hemisphere, so I am curious to see how Lugo performs. Read on!
Well, it’s been a few months, and, needless to say, my coffee break is over.
Up next is a little number that I’ve been waiting for…For months! Whirloop’s remix of Dreamtech’s Venus, which is to be the debut release for Intuition Recordings new sublabel, Stellar Sounds.
