running out of colors gents?
Well, its deep into 2010 and Finity has finally unleashed its first release of the year, and after their hot finish to 2009, it’s no surprise to hear this solid release come from the hands of yet another talented Finnish trance producer. Thomas is no stranger to trance, neither is he a stranger to the Finity camp as this is his 4th release on the imprint.
This latest packs 3 tracks, each original productions, that span progressive soundscapes and plant themselves firmly in euphoric trance. Imaginary Friends is a catchy little number that pushes the pace some and includes some dreamy female vocals; while Walking Against It is more David West/Joonas Hahmo in style, once again featuring some great cut up and effected vocals. The last track is probably the most likable, with its Niklas Grosswald like sound that would fit perfectly early on in a slamming trance set. Don’t miss The One You Love!

After Meridian and Dave Costa team up with Cat Martin for the classy prog trancer ‘Empty Spaces‘. Having remixed Will Holland’s Tears In The Rain, this is After Meridian’s first original work on the label. A warm bass and lush melodies make this a great track for the dancefloor early on in the night, and just the thing to kick things off on a sunny, summer friday afternoon.
The remixes in this package come from Andrew Bennett and Funabashi. Bennett’s remix is typical of his; smooth, slick progressive trance, and splicing / dubbing the vocals to great effect. Funabashi ups the groove and adds a sparkling top line to finish it off! Rounding things out is a 4th version that is void of Cat’s voice, for those of you looking for a more instrumental rendition.

The dynamic dance duo from Deutschland are back at it again! With massive recent hits in 2009, these two have been busy touring the world and appearing in just about everyone’s live (and radio) sets. 2009 saw them release to much fanfare, a stellar artist album that included massive tracks like Flatline, Not Enough Time, Sign of the Times and Under Your Spell. I’m sure you’ll agree with me when I say that IT was the stand out trance album of the year.
This new single entitled Barra once again confirms their professionalism and continuous drive to deliver outstanding quality. Barra is one of those fantastic big room tracks that will certainly warrant many ch00n signs. The track kicks off with a growling bassline that’s slowly morphed into a euphoric soundscape that you simply cannot escape. Try as you might, you’re getting sucked into this one for the full 7 minutes. Attached to the original is an edit that clocks in at under 4 minutes, and makes me wonder if this is really a radio edit disguised as a plain edit…

For this beautiful new title, the two Russian producers of Moonbeam teamed up with Tyler Michaud. The result is the absolutely captivating “Openhearted”, which features the vocals of the fabulous Tiff Lacey. Her vocals have taken so many productions to the highest regions of the charts and that will most certainly happen with this one. This is truly a well crafted club friendly, trance purist, top 40 loving hybrid tune that we’re sure you’ll love it!
Together with Tyler Michaud, Moonbeam have established a warm, soothing and deep vocal trance production that will send shivers down your spine; one that’s absolutely tailor made for the upcoming spring and summer festivals. You won’t be able to forget the chorus for the entire season! Swen Weber was tasked with reworking the original and turned it into a brand new cut that’s rougher, louder and perfect for the big sets that kick off at midnight. “Openhearted”, a stunningly beautiful floor filler!

Mondo godfather and UK mastermind producer Darren Tate kicks 2010 off in fine style with a super hot EP setting up the path to his eagerly awaited third album ‘Horizons 03’. Straight on the back foot of his massive rework of the Angelic classic “It’s My Turn” and last year’s stunning “When The Morning Comes”, Darren returns to deliver more of that Tate magic with his new two track EP.
Kicking off the EP is the beautifully crafted “Tokyo”, a banging peak-time cut that manages to blend eastern culture with Tate’s trademark razor sharp production. With its addictive melodies, gorgeous breakdown and thumping bass line Tokyo is Tate at his best. On the flip you’ll find “Vespers”, an equally timeless production that incorporates beautiful chords and stirring emotional melodies as only Darren knows how. Vespers is quite simply an uplifting and emotional masterpiece that will cause major damage on the dance floor in 2010.

Is this shade of red becoming more and more familiar yet?
Suncatcher joins Enhanced after impressing during 2009 with several standout releases. With several remixes and originals in the pipeline for 2010 on Enhanced he kicks off his account with two superb uplifting trancers.
Heading the package is Wildflowers. Packed with soaring pads and blissful piano lines, backed up by a beastly bottom end this is a real crowd pleaser. With a huge breakdown, giving one of those classic hands in the air moments, this will no doubt be a stand out track for the young producer. The flip see’s Ocean City up the pace and intensity with its no holds barred approach and quite blistering main lead.
An incredibly strong double header from this young talent; and this is just the start of things to come; 2010 will be a great year for him. Read on past the break for some high quality samples!

Evgeny Bardyuzha is a regular feature at Neuroscience. His tracks regularly gain the support of DJs such as Markus Schulz, Tiesto, Paul Oakenfold and Eddie Halliwell, thanks to his distinct and unique production style. Back in October of 2009, Evgeny released his debut artist album, ‘Point of No Return’, which we reviewed with critical appraise. Now, in 2010, Neuroscience brings you ‘Hylea‘, a track that was featured on his album, a track which I pointed out as a standard out production.
‘Hylea‘ is one of the strongest tracks from the album and it was an obvious choice for a full release with remixes. After teaming up with Russian website PromoDJ.ru, Neuroscience launched a remix contest, which well and truly delivered on the goods. It was hard work, but they managed to narrow it down to six winners including, Cramp, Vullcan, Rave CHannel, Broning, Deep Sound and Eryo. Not surprisingly, there are only 2 new names in that list! In addition, Evgeny has reworked the original album mix in to a DJ friendly club mix.

Space Rockerz had a very successful debut with their single Zegema Beach and the track was immediately requested by Daniel Wanrooy for his mix compilation, In Trance We Trust 14. With that positivity still in mind, Space Rockerz worked hard to come up with this fabulous new release, entitled “Weather The Storm”. And a wonderful release it is…
The track is a truly symphonic piece of work that has all the potential to become a future anthem. Clocking in at almost ten minutes, the high energy atmosphere of the song will have an instant floor filler effect on your audience. Highly percussive beats lead towards a towering and truly massive break that seems to get bigger and bigger when it sets in. The trance DJs that dig the influence of classical music in their live sets shouldn’t wait any longer to play this one, ’cause the strings and synths in the build up of “Weather The Storm” offer just that.
Daniel Wanrooy gave the original an extreme make over and turned it into a truly big room slammer that will suit perfectly in the track list for a large event. James Hampton’s point of view delivers an almost electronic house version that eventually breaks out as a real tech trancer with hard ripping strings. “Weather The Storm” by Space Rockerz is a real 5 star hit, ready to hit the decks!

After last year’s Dopamine Theory, label owner Eelke Kleijn is back again on Outside the Box Music with a brand new 3-track EP. The title track ‘The Way That You Are‘ is reminiscent of Eelke’s earlier sound in tracks like 8 Bit Era and Where Are My Goggles. The soaring guitar lead however, takes this track up a notch, and where earlier tracks were a bit funkier this one is definitely big room material.
DAVI, who featured on the label before with his Minor EP in 2009, has remixed The Way That You Are and we are extremely pleased with the result! If the original is a bit too much for you, you might very well like this more dubbed out (but peak time non the less) version.
Last but not least, Eelke’s track ‘Ring The Bells’ is included as well. This is a more unofficial follow up to Dopamine Theory, and has that typical techno ish groove but with a dose of melody on top. Very hypnotic, soothing, energizing and definite club material.

This release landed on my desk by happenstance and I was pleasantly delighted to get a chance to finally review a Moussa Clarke remix pack that features one of my favorite trance producers of recent years, Vadim Soloviev! Slammin Muzik in Germany are re-releasing Moussa’a track Love Key this year, featuring lovely sultry vocals from the rather talented Karen Fisher from California, with a massive package of new mixes.
Russia’s Vadim Soloviev (Ava Recordings) delivers a main-room progressive monster while showing off his considerable production skills. This is a rework you will not want to miss! Albania’s Adam Reeves & Arbre Blass (Wormland Black) take it slightly deeper for a mix which has been shaking the foundations of Adam’s Lollipop Club residency in Tirana. Spain’s Peter Brown steps in with a sun-soaked tribal workout which will provide the perfect beachside sonic backdrop from Dubai to Barcelona to Florianopolis to Kazantip, and last but not least the USA’s Peter Haze goes for a big room electronic vibe that will rock your body to the core.
