Another top notch trance release on the mighty Liquid imprint that has brought to you so many fine releases from the likes of 4 Strings, Clokx, Sandler, Ummet Ozcan and many, many more. This time around we’re privy to a brand new uplifting gem from Vast Vision & Misja Helsloot!

This latest effort is pure trance bliss as it meanders through soft sound scapes that invigorate and energize the listener. The hook is typical of most Liquid Recordings as in it manages to latch onto the listener and whisks them away to another land, if only for a few minutes.  You’ll definitely want to give this beauty a few listens. If you’re looking for a song full of warm hope and emotion, look no further!

These are stiff, stiff as nails!

Last week we posted the first of 4 sampler packs slowly being released for John Askew’s Rediscovered Album Remix series, and today it bring us great joy to unveil the second of the series!

At the beginning of this year, the idea of opening up John Askew’s extensive back catalogue and making it available to some of the world’s best remixers was first discussed. As soon as it was announced there was a rush of producer interest as they all wanted to remix their favourite tracks.

Fortunately they have managed to accommodate almost everyone and the album many are describing as “the trance release of the year” is almost upon us. John Askew “Rediscovered” will get its full release at the end of May and includes anticipated remixes from Tyas, Patterson, Activa, O’Callaghan, Colontonio, Datt, Kearney and Downey to name just a few.  In the meantime Discover White are releasing a series of four samplers to give you a selective taste of the delights that are to follow.

In today’s sampler we have some ridiculously powerful reworks from the likes of Joint Operations Centre, Brian Kearney, Greg Downey and the new superpower at the Discover Dark Camp, Reaky. With remixed tracks titled Vandalism, Battery Acid, and Nail Gun, you kind of wonder how Z List Uber Star fits. Read on past the break for a slice of hellish techno, trance, and a little bit of both all at once!

Neal Thomas – Nova Scotia [NTR BLUE]

Pounding. Fast. Epic. Get it.

8/10

This first release on New Tech Revolution BLUE is an absolute throwback to tech-trance from 2004, and I am just eating it up. I mean, close your eyes and remember the days of old Randy Katana, Abel Ramos, Mac & Mac and Ron van den Beuken.  This release fits in, and it makes me so excited to hear that sound hasn’t completely died.

Neal Thomas (website) is a newcomer to the scene, with a few releases and a handful of remixes under his belt, he’s got nothing but time, talent and dedication lying before him. Nova Scotia is Latin for New Scotland and is a province in the vast country of Canada, a province I’ve spent 5 years living in.  I wonder where his inspiration for this release’s title came from…

Neal’s productions have received major BBC Radio1 backing from Judge Jules & Kutski , with more than 30 plays in the last 12 months. He has recently had tracks signed to Riot!, Traffic Records, Tidy and Nukleuz and is working on his own album due for release this summer. Nova Scotia combines years of DJ experience and his love for all things hard, techno and dance.  The Original Mix is packed with variety, a hook that will rip your brain to pieces as you try and forget it days later, and a groovy dance beat that is unmatched nowadays in the tech trance scene.

Adding to this banging Original Mix is a stellar rework from Mac & Taylor, two other up and coming UK producers who have added a techy edge worthy of a John Askew/Sean Tyas techno production.  A massive rework, from two massive producers!

Read on past the break for your chance to vote for your favorite and sample both tracks.

Mike Nichol – Set In Motion/Tweak [Discover White]

Mike, yer tweakin' my nipples!

Mike Nichol debuts on Discover with this killer two track E.P. which has already gained the support of Armin Van Buuren and is the perfect follow on to his recent critically acclaimed release with Armada. Mike can already list amongst his supporters the likes of Armin, Ferry, JOC, Aly and Fila and Askew and this release will surely cement his place as one of the scenes most exciting new producers. With a breakthrough track like Paradigm, it’s no surprise to see him continue his streak of successes.

This two track EP features Set In Motion leading things off, and what a stormer it is. Atmospheric elements abound throughout the song, whispy vocals add depth and variety to the breakdown and the sense of a coming storm, perhaps an epic battle underlies the build as it crests and crashes into an ocean of sound and energy. Tweak is a harder hitting affair that retains the same whispy vocals that Set In Motion featured and the synth hook is deep, and rather similar to track #1, but this one however, is all about the drive and the journey.  Expect to be heavily energized by the time you’re done with this track.

Read on past the break for some high quality samples and for your chance to vote for your fave!  Let us know what you think of the tracks in the comments.

John Askew – Beirut [Discover White Label]

Truly a unique musical masterpiece!

Is it obvious that I’m cleaning out a backlog of Discover releases? It should be, and in any regard, this is my last of the day and most definitely the most unique release on the Discover White Label since it’s first release 12 months ago. John completely reinvents his sound for this exotic release, and Beirut is probably his most lush and relaxing release to date.

Along with John’s Original Mix, which is, by the way, down tempo and chilled out to the max, are two tasty remixes from Thomas Datt and recent remix contest winner, Xgenic.  Thomas’ remix is a sultry progressive number that is dark and edgy, while maintaining much of the uplifting aura of the Original Mix.  As for Xgenic’s rework, I’ve got to say that considering what the original material was, he’s truly re-invented it and given it a sound that fits right at home with some of today’s harder hitting trance DJs like Christopher Lawrence, Sean Tyas and Paul van Dyk.

Read on past the break for some high quality samples and be sure to show the label some love, buy the tracks if you like them!
