Jer Martin – Ten Minutes To Midnight [Anjunabeats]

Beach sand wrapped in euphoria!
- Andre
10/10

I’ve been a friend of Jer’s for years now, and his work with Anjunabeats as A&R Stud have not gone unnoticed.  Twas but many moons ago that I received a master copy of a deep and broody progressige trance numbers with epic crashes and piano riffs, that song still stands in my top 5 all time.  The track in question? Second Nature’s unsung song Only You, which sadly never saw a release (to the best of my knowledge…)

If we fast forward 3-4 years, Jer has now had a few remixes under his belt, but it wasn’t until 2010 that he emerged from the underground to jostle with the other big boys, and this latest effort on Anjunabeats has already cemented his position on their roster I’m sure.

Having already been signed to two compilations (one of which is Armin van Buuren’s ASOT 2010 2CD Compilation), Ten Minutes To Midnight is causing quite the stir, already furiously climbing up the Beatport Trance Charts. Though the track is Jer’s creation, its sound is unmistakably that of Above & Beyond.  The lush pads, soft wind and enchanting riff steals your pain and troubles, instantly carrying you to a packed beach party, with massive lasers for sunlight.  Reaching, higher, higher, and even higher, your feet are carried off the sand and you’re wrapped up in euphoria. This track has epic written all over it, without being too in your face about it.

Wrapping the release up is a deeper remix from 7 Skies.  If you’d like to hear some samples, and vote for your fave, hit up the READ MORE link below.

Buckle in, this is a wild ride!
- Andre
8/10

Fresh from remixing Sean Truby’s “Waiting For You”, Icone returns to Flux Delux with his first original release in over a year to deliver a suitably epic release in true Icone style. The words “epic” and “anthem” are never far away from an Icone description and this release is no different as Icone once again shows us that he is one of the very best producers around when it comes to big room trance.

On remix duty we have “Amplified” resident A J Hutch who, fresh from remixing John O’Callaghan and Aly and Fila’s recent collaboration for Armada delivers a mix that shows us exactly why he is rising to the top of his game right now and can include in his list of supporters the likes of Armin, Ferry, JOC, Tyas and Activa.

Both mixes ooze class and style in equal measure – this is feel good trance and its just in time for the summer!! You can hear both tracks in high quality after the jump!

From sun down to sun rise...
- Andre
8/10

The electronic dance scene in Germany is in very healthy hands as the latest trance molded bomb to explode on the scene, courtesy of PvD’s VANDIT, is from a duo that will be looking to follow in a few very famous electronic footsteps. The collaboration of Solace & Solitude is a joint combination of the DJ Pete Severano and producer Christian Anders, who bring both their unique skills together for this new name on the electronic music scene.

It’s a debut release right here on VANDIT for the pair and they have brought a sound that fits in perfectly with what we’ve come to expect from the label. Sunset Sessions is a driving trance anthem that packs in harmonic bars and a rumbling beat right at the heart of it. The harmonics that fill the build up will certainly plaster a euphoric smile across any listener’s face. Joining the debutants for this release is another up and coming talent but one who is no stranger to VANDIT after his superb ‘The Republic’ debut last year. Gary Proud’s uplifting and pounding style injects that little bit more energy with a production that stamps out why he is one of the hottest trance talents on the scene at the moment.

It’s a fitting title to a stunning debut release from Solace & Solitude. A name we are sure you will see more often and one which will provide 2010 with more quality electronic audio. Read on past the break for a few high quality samples!

A truly refreshing 24 minutes of Trance!
- Andre
8/10

running out of colors gents?

Well, its deep into 2010 and Finity has finally unleashed its first release of the year, and after their hot finish to 2009, it’s no surprise to hear this solid release come from the hands of yet another talented Finnish trance producer. Thomas is no stranger to trance, neither is he a stranger to the Finity camp as this is his 4th release on the imprint.

This latest packs 3 tracks, each original productions, that span progressive soundscapes and plant themselves firmly in euphoric trance.  Imaginary Friends is a catchy little number that pushes the pace some and includes some dreamy female vocals; while Walking Against It is more David West/Joonas Hahmo in style, once again featuring some great cut up and effected vocals. The last track is probably the most likable, with its Niklas Grosswald like sound that would fit perfectly early on in a slamming trance set. Don’t miss The One You Love!

XGenic – Around Me [Enhanced Progressive]

Posted by Andre on January 3 under Releases | Be the First to Comment | 44 views

A veritable youngster all star list!
- Andre
8/10

Leandro Fiorio & Marcelo Rollano aka XGenic have steadily made a name for themselves over the past couple of years with support for their releases from the likes of Armin van Buuren, Above & Beyond and Ferry Corsten. They debut on Enhanced with Around Me, a far more progressive track from their typical uplifting style. A track with real excitement and energy with tight, punchy percussion that make this a delight and a real floor mover.

Remix duties fall to Steve Brian, The Flyers & Mike Sonar and also sees a welcome return form Maarten Hercules. Steve Brian’s remix of Temple One’s Sahara Nights has seen amazing support and surely this remix will follow suit; it really is superb once again; an amazingly understated pounding prog trancer!

The Flyers & Mike Sonar return after their Judge Jules ‘Tried and Tested Tune Of The Week’ remix for Sahara Nights, and they add their trademark sound to this in perfect style. Lastly Maarten Hercules returns to Enhanced with a classy interpretation of the original. Harmonics was a huge release for Maarten, and one of the first releases on Enhanced Progressive so it’s great to see him back on the label.

DJ Eco – And We Flew Away [Tone Diary Recordings]

A fully inspiring New Year anthem!
- Andre
10/10

This is DJ Eco’s long awaited track, soon to be released on Tone Diary, and we’ve got an exclusive scoop on the track!  DJ Eco’s been around the music scene for years now, and this Jersey based producer knows how to give back to his fans (IF you’re wondering how he does it, stop by his MySpace blog….)

With releases and remixes on Flashover, Istmo Music, ASOT, Infrasonic and far too many others to list here, his name is rather synonymous with what some consider to be a more purist approach to trance, never waving in his style, DJ Eco continues to produce music that inspires, motivates and lightens the day.

This latest effort on Marcus Schossow’s Tone Diary Recordings his DJ Eco’s second release on the label, and it is a masterpiece of progressive, epic and melodic trance combined to create a truly out of body, euphoric experience.  The track meanders through soft soundscapes, remembers it’s roots and paints a truly inspiring picture as it progresses, culominating in a beautiful breakdown.

Read on past the break for the high quality sample of the track and be sure to show some love when this lands, you do not want to miss this!

Will Holland ft Line Froyset – Things That Happen [Enhanced Recordings]

A perfect balance of drive and patience
- Andre
8.5/10

31-8116_600

Will’s an Enhanced veteran, and his latest effort featuring Line Froyset is a sublime uplifter that redefines the term anodyne. Line’s singing career seems rather young, as this is her first trance effort to date, and this Norwegian vocalist is making waves, far reaching and calming waves.

Will’s previous efforts (including this gem in 2005) have all been of an extremely quality, and his sound’s been championed by some the world’s top jocks for the past 5 years.  Joining him on this sublime release are Temple One and Mystery Islands. Hailing from the UK and Finland respectively, these young producers add their signature sounds to the original, truly capping this release off!

Adrian Ivan – Together [2Play Recordings]

Big summer sound: keeping the flame alive!
- Andre
8/10

11635A slightly different edge from 2Play Recordings this time around, with a rather short and sweet 1 track release from Adrian Ivan. Adrian’s been around for some time, many of you might know him under his Mr. Pit guise and this latest draws some rather similar parallels to an old track I fell in love with, Re-Back on Well Mixed Records.

This latest is a journey through a face paced, euphoric trancescape that isn’t the typical 2Play sound.  It’s bouncy groove, big room riffs and crisp kicks are a treat to hear, especially since summer has now officially come and gone.  This harks back to those sun drenched days, bringing back those warm memories, even if for one day.
