If you want it, you’ve got it! I must say its a fairly tasty piece of electro! Grab the link first thing after the break.
LA beat conductors Villains are making quite a stir in the club-banger scene with their killer tracks and remixes, spreading their noise from underground to the mainstream. This production/DJ duo consisting of Mad V and Koncept met back in 2002 and after years of appreciating one another’s production style decided to team up, hit the studio and craft some beats together. Just a few months of churning out bootleg remixes and some original tracks they started receiving requests to DJ the world over. Villains have come a long way in a short amount of time with high profile official remixes of Britney Spears (the highest selling remix on iTunes off the Circus Remix EP), Lykke Li and Bloc Party.

floorplaymusic

It’s friday, and it’s only fitting to pump out a review for a total friday friendly track.  Hot off the presses from Floorplay Music, this latest gem features Marcie’s vocals layered on a solid electro house foundation. Marcie’s voice is quickly becoming iconic, she’s featured in countless dance music compilations, including Ferry Corsten’s ‘Gatecrasher Live’ CDs, and she’s literally taking the scene over by storm!

Joining Marcie on this release is Filthy Rich, of whom I cannot find any details.  Regardless, we’ve got two fine remixes in the package, by the likes of Prok & Fitch and Chris Montana & NiQ. All remixes are certainly unique, and each provide a different vibe, set for different stages of the night.  From electro house to tech house and a touch of acid and techno, you’ll want to check out the high quality remixes after the break!

With releases dating back to 2003, this fearless duo’s been honing their skill (most recently on Transatlantic by DJ Fire) and this latest release on Bonzai Music proves that progressive can indeed be forward thinking.

The very first offering on this release is titled ‘Fantastic’, and although it starts off rather slowly, it certainly snowballs into a fiery electro mess by the end. On the B-Side we’ve got a hot progressive number that shines, thanks to an amazing breakdown and buildup.

CyberSutra – Rock It [Prompt Digital]

Posted by Aaron on September 9 under Tracks | Be the First to Comment | 12 views

So I’m gonna start up a new feature with this review…I’m calling it the Red Eye Review! Basically, if a review has a red eye logo pictured, then it means that I wrote it pretty late at night. I thought it would be funny to see how my writing style might change, or even my taste in music, when I’m really damned tired…Seriously. Since I explained the logo, we shall move on!

This one found its way into my mailbox the other day: it’s a piece of electro by a live duo named CyberSutra, entitled…You guessed it, Rock It! Given the group’s name, you might infer that there is some suggestive content…And there is, but hey, we’ve all got a bit of a wild side(Please don’t share, though :P ). But, enough banter, let’s dig in. Read on for the review!

See that? Means I’m tired! And yes, I know that it’s a modified Xtravaganza logo. :P

Hatiras – 4 Track Variety Pack [BlowMedia]

Posted by Andre on April 29 under Tracks | Be the First to Comment | 14 views

Hatiras have been pumping out some amazingly funky Toronto house for years now, and their latest releases on ‘BlowMedia’ have been absolutely stellar and there is no doubt in my mind that their stuff went down HUGE in WMC this past week (can anyone confirm my suspicions?) We’ve decided to kind of do a pot-pourri of Blowmedia Releases in this review, packing 4 tight tracks into one!

The first track in the pack is titled ‘Donkey Punch’, produced by Hatiras and Jelo (yay for Toronto!) and provides a club worthy floor destroyer with bleepy synth stabs and a killer bassline. The second and third track are two remixes of a Danny Nagels, Jeoy Seminara & Flipside track, titled ‘Just The Tip’, and Hatiras does the remix duties by providing a vocal remix and a fully instrumental remix. Another floor destroying weapon that I’m sure is currently making the rounds in clubs!

The last track in this review comes from Hatiras, titled ‘Quite Simple Really’, and is a slightly dubbed down tech house tune that creates an eery and dreamy atmosphere to drive energy. Read on past the break for the full review and samples for each track! We’ve even included some download links!
