Ever since bursting onto the scene, Amplified Digital have been trailblazing and proving that young guns CAN dance with the heavyweights. This latest release continues on much the same path as previous releases, a pumping techno track with heavy trance influences that will rock your socks off.
To be quite frank, I know very little about DJ Kristoff, and his personal website leaves much to be desired, but his debut EP on Amplified Digital (who also seem to suffer from website updating issues) is sure to whip up a frenzy in clubs worldwide. The A Side provides the original mix, with everything well balanced, providing insane amounts of energy. On the B Side, we’re treated to a slightly dirtier, grittier version which highlights a thunderous rolling bassline. Think Mark Sherry or Dr Willis.
Both tracks are top quality and I see them easily fitting into an Eddie Halliwell / Sander van Doorn set, late in the night. Read on past the break for my full review, samples and download links.
Oh, and if you’ve got any info on this artist, please let us know in the comments, we’d like to stay on top of his productions.
Amplified Digital is a young label, now in it’s 8th digital release, they’ve provided some fresh trance and techno, but usually heavy on the dark and dirty tech that many of us have learned to love. This latest release comes from Evol Waves, who’s been signed to Armada/Coldharbour, and presents some tasty techno with just enough gusto to tear a floor apart.
With three tight tracks on the release, each track exploring a slightly different area in techno, this release is sure to please many ears. If you’re looking for a trancier take on techno, be sure to check out ‘Back for Good’.
Hailing from Brazil, Rodrigo Superti is part of a new wave of Trance producers who aim to fuse melodic elements with banging tech elements to create a new style of energetic and crowd pleasing music. Seeing his second release on Amplified Digital , Superti delivers a well balanced tech trancer, with more than enough energy and grit to elevate the crowd’s emotion at any point in the night. A dancefloor destroyer without a doubt!
On the Flipside, Charlie G presents a more subdued version, which highlights a more balanced energy level throughout by making use of more techno elements. Overall, a fantastic remix from the Amplified Digital virgin. Keep reading for samples and to find out which of the two tracks stood out for its high energy levels!
As the second official release of Amplified Digital, a fresh new Canadian Trance geared label, Bryant Baker shines in an infectiously effective techno infused trance offering! Bryant Baker is one of the rising artists in the US electronic music scene.
This former rock band member has been heavy involved with electronic music since the early 90’s, and his diverse taste in disco, house, breaks, electro, techno, funk & soul, and more all shine through in ‘Red Bull’.
The original mix provided by Bryant himself showcases incredibly wild and almost indigenous (think africa) sounds that send the listener into a pure state of trance! … sorry for the cliche! On remix duties, Jellisimo, who erupted onto the scene with the hugely popular ‘My Way / Walk My Talk’ release in 2005, shows that techno can also be progressive, and in doing so sets an incredible atmosphere! The second remix on the release comes courtesy of Canada’s very own Tygon. Having his feet firmly planted in the deeper and darker side of house, this remix is considerably faster than his usual work, but shines nonetheless.
Lastly, an unusual offering was tacked onto the end of this 3 track release package, a wonderful mash-up concocted by Xijaro, of XDR fame, which overlays Amplified Digital’s first two releases together, resulting in a fantastic atmospheric sound with impeccable melodies.
