Well, this little snippet of trance heaven has garnered quite the attention already, what with Armin, Above & Beyond, Judge Jules and Ferry Corsten highlighting the tracks on their respective radio shows. Add to that list a glowing review from MusiCritics.com and I’m not too sure what more this release could possibly want? To take over the world, perhaps?

Getting down to business, this latest effort on the Enhanced Recordings label is an absolute stormer of a trance track, and with remixes from The Flyers & Mike Sonar, and Steve Brian, we’re guaranteed a progressive spin on an already stellar trance production.  Read on past the break for my full rundown of each mix, some high quality samples and for your chance to vote for your favorite!

The track kicks off with a very Ferry Corsten like sound, dry percs and punchy kicks overlay the simple bassline that suddenly begins to growl at the 60 second mark. The track features a simple and filtered vocal track that carries energy well into the break at 2:45.  The breakdown reminds me of old Solarstone productions, it’s lush soundscape and surreal synth/pad work is quite literally, powefully moving. The track wastes no time in the break as it quickly builds, twice, to launch the listener into trance hyperspace.

This version has a decidedly different bass line than the original, adding a clubby feel to the track, creating a progressive trance number that is both playful and driven. This isn’t the first time I’ve covered work by this team of producers, and once again, they deliver while firing on all cylinders.

Temple One – Sahara Nights (Steve Brian Remix)

This version tones things down even more than the previous progressive effort, turning this into a great set opener, something I’d picture Markus Schulz blasting in one of his Global DJ Broadcast episodes.  The breakdown, though much longer than the original, is the track’s highlight.  Let yourself be taken away by the fantastic synth work, the lush and celestial pads and the wonderfully simple, and short, crash before taking off once again.

The Verdict

There’s a damn good reason for the world’s top jocks to take notice of this release! It’s frankly, an amazing piece of trance production, and the ease with which Temple One hooks and engages the listener is absolutely stunning. The original mix stands out as the best of the bunch for me, but be sure to give Brian’s version a listen, it would make an awesome set opener!

Score: 9/10
