“
Gentle house music has never felt so good! ” - Andre
7/10
This is our 6th review of a Swordtail Records release, and after listening to it I’m pretty sure it has magical powers capable of extending the arrival of old man winter. This latest effort comes from Orelse, a name not often seen, unless you follow the Bonzai Music record labels.
Alongside Orelse on ‘Joyride’ is MJ Motta on remix duties, while Mosquit does the honors on ‘All My Dreams’. Each of the 4 tracks is a snapshot of summery, lush progressive house that would whip just about anybody into a sensual dance frenzy.

Egyptian producer and DJ Mohamed Ragab lands on Stellar Sounds for his very first release, and what a release it is! Time Will Tell is the 8th release on this young imprint (a sublabel of industry stalwart Intuition Recordings) and as always, Menno and the team have drafted a veritable superstar team of up and comers to demonstrate just how powerful Stellar Sounds trance can be.
Along with Mohamed on this release are rising stars Mike Emvee (Canada) and Soundlift (Portugal), each lending a very different interpretation of the original to round things out nicely. “
A spirit lifting slice of prog-trance! ” - Andre

Release number 11 from InfraProgressive comes courtesy of The Flyers & Mike Sonar with their Love EP. Infrasonic’s Mike Sonar makes his debut on this fine progressive label and with the help of two of his production partners supplies yet another outstanding release.
Heading the package is the highly infexious Chasing Love. This track has summer written all over it with its beautifully written chord progression and hook. Add to that a killer bass line and you have yourself a bit of a tune to say the least. An outstanding debut from a trio with a big future. The just as infexious and just as impressive Summer Love completes the package. The guys adopt a more driving approach this time round and it proves a perfect foil for that of Chasing Love.
Sit back, relax and turn both these tracks up real loud because summer has finally landed. Catch some high quality samples after the jump and find out for yourself just how smooth these blokes are.

Annihilate a crowd at the push of a button! ” - Andre

Every once in a while a track comes along that completely re-invents a producer’s sound. This track does exactly that for Sean. Known by many for his torrid production pace, and often times repetitive re-use of his signature driving kick and bassline, this latest effort on Discover Dark is like nothing I’ve heard the man make before!
Rulebook is a growling beast of a trancer, and Bryan Kearney delivers a smashing remix on the B-Side to round things out on what is quite possibly the hardest hitting release to date on the Discover Dark label. But don’t just take my word for it, read on past the break for some high quality samples and for your chance to vote for your favorite!

This.Is.Tech.Electro.Trance: Dancefloor Destruction ” - Andre
8/10
I’ve been a huge fan of Eddie’s work since I discovered his remix of Illusion on Inspired Digital back in 2007 and have been following his releases closely since then. His sound has changed some since then, and this latest release on In Trance We Trust is a snapshot of his new sound: Tech.Electro.Trance meant to destroy massive dancefloors.
Conspiration is rather short, clocking in at just over 5 minutes, but what it lacks for in length it makes up with attitude, dirt and grime. Pair such a devastating low end with a chime like riff that reminds me of Holden & Thompson’s Nothing and you’ve a rather interesting track that you will either love, or hate. On the B Side we have a remix, by Eddie himself, titled Eddie’s Corrupted Remix. This is truly where the release shines. With a more dj friendly length of 7 minutes, this corrupted remix takes everything from the original and spices everything up with a healthy dose of filtered processing (and reverb for good measure), creating a veritable big room sound.

Emotional depth within the mind of a man ” - Andre
8.5/10
Hook is back with one of the biggest releases of the summer: Deniro’s “Mind of Man” remixes.
Originally released in 1996, Deniro’s Mind of Man became a pivotal release for Hook’s unique brand of no compromise trance. It was often quoted as the release that “Got Me in to the Hook Sound” and immediately became a firm favorite of many of the day’s major players. It gained a host of CD compilation licenses most notably appearing on one of the early Global Underground compilations, a brand which became synonymous for its taste and influence.
2009 sees this Hook classic getting the remix treatment from the tracks composer Chris Cowie using his X Cabs alias to put a new twist on the original. He’s joined by Nicholas Bennison, no stranger to the Hook label having recently released his first outing for Hook with his Deadweight Ep and also Jonathan Allyn, a newcomer to Hook but a name traveling fast up the Trance ranks.

“
Always one step ahead, Simon delivers! ” - Andre
9/10
Originally one half of the now defunct Dogzilla project, Simon has been tearing dancefloors up over the past 6 years like it’s going out of style. With hit after hit, he’s quickly become one of Trance’s poster boys, an accolade fitting, considering he’s rather pleasant to look at.
This latest track, destined to be a hit I’m sure, lands on Reset Records (Spinnin Records, an arm of the Sander van Doorn empire) and features the same smile inducing, spine tingling, laser reaching sound that we’ve all come to appreciate from Simon. Add to that lovely vocals in the track’s breakdown and we’ve got an instant crowd favorite.

“
A truly versatile trio, from love to club! ” - Andre
8/10
I received this release, rather mysteriously, some time ago and as has been apparent lately, I’m busy playing catch up, so here we are today. This release, the latest on Wildchild Records (the trance arm of Baroque Records) is a rather unique spin on the typical progressive trance sound that we’re hearing lately.
Deck Jagger, as I am sure many aren’t aware, is the harder edged alias for the Finnish production trio Syna. We’ve been covering Syna on MusiCritics as of late, and the entire Finnish trance wave to boot. This latest effort from the boys incorporates some of the sounds you might find in a top 40 club hit with their signature smooth progressive sound. The release includes the title track, Utopia and a dirty, club friendly track titled Gay Clubs Are Better
Read on past the break for high quality samples, you won’t want to miss Gay Clubs Are Better. It happens to include a rather iconic quote from none other than Moby!
A month ago our intrepid reviewer Aaron decided to cover the original release that featured mixes from Ben Gold and Thomas Datt. At the very end of his review, he tosses a prediction out onto the table, and by golly, he was right! Returning alongside Ben is serene vocalist Senadee, already a seasoned veteran of the Discover group, now with his 4th release on their labels.
Today is quite literally a club anthem with iconic vocals that I am sure have already ravaged many a packed dancefloor this summer. These new remixes shed a new light on the originals, with Filo & Peri and Thomas Datt lending their hands to crafting instant hits.
