Dada Life – Happy Hands and Happy Feet [The Hours]

What a wonderful day today was.  I managed to enjoy the wonderful sunshine and received a rather interesting press release that turned out to be pure gold.  This latest review, and freebie, comes courtesy of the gents and ladies at The Hours and the Swedish duo, Dada Life.

The brainchild of Stockholm-based Olle Corneer and Stefan Engblom, Dada Life doesn’t care about genres. They don’t care about smartness. They don’t care about the things you care about. Dada Life just wants to make you jump up and down. Then make you crash into a wall with a smile on your face.

That’s literally the only way I could describe the track.  It’s dirty, grimy and down right jaw dropping.  I’m looking forward to the day I get to hear this in a club, it’s possible I’ll melt into the soundsystem.  This is hot.

Read on past the break and get yourself a 100% legit copy of the track in high quality mp3.  Don’t forget who loves you…

Cressida – Onyric [Euphonic]

cressida_-_never_mind__onyric

I originally skipped over this entire release (which includes 4 other tracks, ‘Never Mind’ + 3 remixes) while surfing along on Beatport.com, but after some more attentive listening, ‘Onyric’ (the 2 track B-side to the original release) stood out.

Fully trance at heart, ‘Onyric’ is a splash of progressive mixed in with a dollop of electro/tech, culminating into a hybrid that’s fully representative of the current style adopted by most trance producers.  Read on past the break to get my full take on the original mix as well as Stoneface & Terminal’s rework.

And as always, high quality samples await your ears.  Be sure to vote for your favorite!

Paul Miller vs Fafaq – Clause [Discover Whitelabel]

Posted by Andre on March 30 under Tracks | Be the First to Comment | 20 views

r-1698688-1237727302I’ve been buried in house music the past few weeks, and that’s in large part due to the coming and going of WMC 2009.  Well, as I’m sure many partiers are feeling the after effects, WMC has come to a close and it’s time for me to spend a little more time with my musical love….trance.

This latest, single gem, comes from the Discover Group and packs a wallop.  I had not, to date, heard of the Whitelabel branch of this fantastic label, but judging by the sheer quality of Paul and Fafaq’s offering, I’ll be giving it the attention it deserves from here on in.

Read on past the break to get a chance to sample the track yourself, you won’t be disappointed with this awesome trancer!

Two reviews from the Real Legacy camp in a single week, can someone smell WMC? Though it may be, I’m definitely not disappointed to be showered in Real Legacy releases over the past weeks, the quality they maintain, release after release, is a testament to the time and effort the lads who run the show commit to their music.

The original, which showcases the beautiful Aliciya Angel’s voice is accompanied by not 1, 2 or 3 remixes, but 5 remixes!  The Callum B remix is receiving rave reviews from just about every disc jockey around the world.  In the remix pack we’ve also got solid reworks by Alex Reliic and FAKE.  Rounding out the package are a Dub and Radio Edit of the original.

Michael & Levan ft Stiven – Free Fall [Toes in the Sand]

splash_toes041_300x300Michael & Levan are a duo that need no introduction in the deep house realm, and this latest offering, on Toes in the Sand, proves once again that the duo are at the forefront of the progressive movement.  Melting vintage progressive with new age house, this release is sure to be a hit at WMC 09 this week, and the more I find myself enjoying this release, the more I wish I was in Miami.

Along for the ride are Ben Coda (which we covered previously), Elfsong & Aether and Dynamic Illusion.  All three releases are smooth and sexy, but each has it’s unique qualities….in many cases showcasing a side you weren’t expecting.

Read on past the break for my full take on this gem and to hear some high quality samples.  And as always, be sure to vote for your favorite!

Nearly 3 weeks ago I covered the original release (featuring remixes from Orjan Nilsen) and today I bring to you a remix package fresh off the presses!  The original release is getting tons of attention lately, and with WMC in full swing, don’t be surprised to find yourself hearing these latest remixes.

This remix pack features three different versions, two of which are worked by Genix and the last comes from newcomer Khaomeha.  Genix’s remixes have that Genix-like edge to them, melting tech with trance to create floor destroyers.  As for Khaomeha, his remix is a little more upbeat and epic in nature, read on to get a taste of it!

Be sure to let us know which track is your favorite!

We don’t cover nearly enough of Real Legacy’s releases, but today is the day we turn over a new leaf.  The imprint, born of Der Mystik (Paulo Der Munoz) and Alex Reliic has been delivering some of the freshest sounds I’ve heard from a new label in many, many moons.

This latest offering, on Real Legacy Records’ sublabel Real Legacy Impulse is a progressive house monster that cannot be contained. This 3 track release features ‘Tomorrow’s another day’ along with the title track ‘This Sound’, both in it’s original format and in its techier counterpart, the Jquintel Remix.

Existone – Obscure Rays [In Trance We Trust]

Posted by Andre on March 20 under Releases | 5 Comments to Read | 96 views

r-1674144-1236054448This is Existone’s (is it said exist-one or exis-tone?) third release on the venerable In Trance We Trust label, Black Hole’s successful trance only label. Sergey is the latest in Russian trance producers to be taking the world by storm, and his latest effort, ‘Obscure Rays’, is already busy conquering. It’s no surprise, considering he’s been heavily playlisted by Tiesto himself, and was featured on his latest In Search of Sunrise compilation, ISOS Asia.

This release package is a testament to the true form of trance nowadays.  The original mix is dark and dancey while maintaining a euphoric edge that sends your arms reaching for the lasers.  Sadly, I’ve got no lasers at the moment.  On remix duties are Alex Ozen and Walsh & McAuley who provide they own flavor, but in the end, all three are rather similar in style (with Alex’s pushing the envelope).

Read on for high quality samples and the ability to vote for you favorite track of this 3 pack release!
