The memories evoked in me when I discovered there were new remixes of this vocal classic were, well, mixed at best.  I’ve loved the original, it’s held such a large part in my heart for years now, and to know there are new 2008 mixes of it left me curious and anxious.

On the A-Side, we’re treated to a remix by Gustav, who has to date, not released anything else, manages to combine the new 2008 electro-prp sound into this vocal trancer.  On the B-Side we’re treated to a remix from a heavyhitter, Dave Robertson, who finds his own on CR2 Records and usually finds himself making Hard House Productions.  This one, is far from that, and shows that there is no need to pidgeonhole someone’s style.

Joni’s been perfecting his sound over the past years, and his more recent productions ooze of talent and refinement…this latest effort is no different!

Released on In Trance We Trust, ‘Whenever I May Find Her’ showcases his ability to melt genres, proving that progressive trance is alive and well in 2008.  A rolling bassline that ceases to stop, punctuated with wonderful percussion and atmospheric elements as the song progresses.  On the B-Side, Joni provides a more alternative sound with Escapism, deeper and darker with a wonderful guitar based riff.
