The latest from the ‘In Trance We Trust’ camp comes from a hungarian trance duo, Myon & Shane 54. This vocal trancer has quickly found a way into my record collection, and I’m positive you’ll find the same.
Along with the trance original are 5 other remixes, providing a little something different for everyone. The Dub mix does as it says…it leaves out the vocals. Added to the package are remixes by Aurosonic, Ian Flux & Thomas Blofeld, Jonas Steur and Michael Badal. A balanced mix of new and old.
Myon has burst onto the trance scene this year, with some huge hits supported by some of the world’s top jocks. With releases on Ultra, Anjuna, Magik Muzik and now ITWT, there is truly no stopping this young phenom! As for Shane54, many have heard the name, due largely to his ‘laptopdj’ moniker he’s used over the years for his bootleg mixes. After having released a debut album in 1996, this is is first proper release since then!
Real Legacy Filth delivers its very first release as child of Real Legacy, and newcomer Anthony Nardone delivers it by the truck load! This is Anthony’s third release to date, having been featured on Bellarine and Sedna Recordings earlier in the year.
The ‘Looks Good’ release packs a dangerous amount of filth, as not only does the original kick it hard, but the two remixes packaged alongside do full duty as well. The Swartz & Schulner is a tech heavy progressive trancer that reminds me of older Raul Cremona works and Bryan Summerville’s reminds me of a Santiago Nino Tech Mix, both worthy remixes that showcase the original in slightly different, yet similar, lights.
Read on past the break for samples and more details on this fantastic release. Plus, find out why he’s been dubbed the junior Mauro Picotto and why he’s gained support from DJs worlwide.
Another release from the Digital Remedy camp, and another pair of tracks you’re not soon to forget.
Another release from the Digital Remedy camp, and another pair of tracks you’re not soon to forget. Coming straight from the Boss, Lee’s latest offerings showcase his upfront edge, mastering skills and ability to melt genres like no other.
On the A side we’re treated to a techy grinder by the name of ‘Punch Drunk’, and the name alone is enough to illicit imagery. The track lives up to its name, it’s driving bass and unforgettable synth driven melody do more than intoxicate, they punch!
On the B side we’re to a collab with none other than Tiff Lacey. Tiff’s name has quickly become synonymous with trance over the last few years, and although her voice isn’t usually paired with an artist of Lee’s style, the track delivers a breath of fresh air. With a pounding bassline, her delicate vocals create a poignant contrast that manages to create air and atmosphere in an otherwise dark song.
In 1989 Beltek started his musical journey by taking piano lessons for six years. Fast forward to 2007, he entered Pete Tong’s producer contest with the track ” Copacabana” and won. This was a big turning point in his career, since then Chris Lake signed this track on his highly acclaimed label Rising Trax.
Fast forward to today, and Beltek’s latest full release was originally featured on Tiesto’s ‘In Search of Sunrise 7: Asia’, now slated for a full proper release.
The Russell G (see his latest release, Whiplash/Stranded) & Hauswerks Mix was added to the mix, providing a more trippy, acid house like version, heavily dubbed with tech.
His follow up to Dark Room, the ‘Whiplash / Stranded’ EP was released in mid August, and well, I’ve been busy, so here’s my un-timely review.
Receiving support from a wide range of DJ’s including Tiesto, Armin (@ Amnesia), Above & Beyond (TATW Tune of the week), Godskitchen residents Mark Eteson & Paul Thomas and many more, this EP has managed to leave a trail of destroyed clubbers around the globe. ‘Whiplash’ is pure genius, we’re treated a more peak time type track that I would envision going down well on a sunset cruise or a crowded beach bar. On the B side, featuring ‘Stranded’, he proves that progressive house can pull you by the heart and force you to smile as it plays around with you, much like a puppet.
Up next for review is 4 Strings vs. DJ Shaine, “The Way It Should Be.” I haven’t really followed either of them, to be frank, but I figured I might as well dive in and check it out! Read on for a preview review!
Got deja vu? No you don’t, this is the full review! You may recall me putting up a tidbit about The Way It Should Be, but now you shall get an overview of the other track on this release.
Up next is an album from Israeli producer Guy J…This album is his debut, Esperanza, on John Digweed’s Bedrock label. It’s been out awhile, but it’s never too late to showcase an album, especially one that has been hyped to a large extent…At any rate, Esperanza appears to offer a fusion of many styles, from minimal to trance, and most of the stuff in between…So, if you think that one or more of those genres fall into your sphere of taste, read on!
Up next is Dennis Sheperd’s newest single, Run Away! We gave you guys a little update about this up-and-comer last month, so I’ll spare the introduction and get right down to the nitty gritty.
“”Run Away” is Dennis’ next single on the legendary label Euphonic. It will include remixes from Alucard and Store N forward.
The original mix is a symbiosis between progressive House and Trance with a breath-taking break and a dancefloor-destroying centre-part.
Alucard offers a club orientated House version that is deeper than the original, something certain for Sander Van Doorn fans!
Last but not least Store N Forward deliver an uplfiting Trance interpretation and turn “Run Away” into a driving monster.” Read more of this article »
So I got this cd in recently, or actually it surprised me on the door mat. So I dropped it in my player straight away and started listening to what Chris Montana and the guys from Haiti Groove recordings consider as the sound of Ibiza. The compilation is devided in two cd’s, CD 1: Dark Club Side, CD2: Sunny Pool Side. Read more of this article »
