A sequel four years in the making. Sasha’s first Involver compilation took the world by storm, utilizing an excellent concept of tearing the original tracks apart, re-working them, and then piecing them together to create a very in-depth, immersing mix that still has relevance to date! A lot of fake track lists and false release dates have been surfacing for this new mix, but given that I am holding my copy right now, all that speculation has been put to rest.
I haven’t been really tracking Sasha’s style at all, and I really only have heard his first Involver mix. I am being open-minded about this one, but the general outlook might be grim, given the somewhat negative opinion of modern-day Sasha’s style. At any rate…

After having been featured on the major motion picture ‘Garden State’, Cary crossed over to the mainstream trance arena with a re-release of his smash hit ‘Ride’. Getting the special treatment from none other than Tiesto himself, this single managed to find its way into many hearts and is still dear to many who’ve had the chance to hear it live.
The original is clearly folk-sy and indie, but Tiesto’s remix adds a chilled out balearic vibe to the track, allowing it to fit nicely nearly anywhere! Read on past the break for samples and download links!

The latest from the Intuition camp comes from Arney S., otherwise known as 8 Wonders or Arnej to many. His recent productions, under any of his guises, have been charted by some of the top jocks and are consistently receiving airplay. This latest offering, is no exception.
On the A side we’re treated to a progressive trancer that borrows a deep tribal sound from what I would consider an older era in dance music. On the B side we’re treated to a tasty little progressive number that finds its home with Anjuna Deep quite well. One has to be intrigued at reading the track titles, sounds to me like someone’s enjoyed a few nights out in the past!

I’ve always had utmost respect for Sied van Riel, his productions, although not always my style, have always had an aura to them. His latest offering, released on Black Hole Recordings, featured on ISOS7, and titled ‘Rush’ is a progressive trancer that would make an old school Sasha shiver.
On remix duties we’ve got the ever so versatile Trebbiano, who’s already had 2 releases on Black Hole this year alone. His version strips down some of the tech elements and highlights the melody, creating a more emotional version. If I had to pick between the two versions, I’d choose the Trebbiano remix due to its catchy little breakbeat intro and the emphasis placed on the melody throughout.
Don’t forget to support the artists you love!
Side note….if anyone knows how to properly pronounce Sied van Riel, I’d love to know!
