Ever since it’s beginning, Digital Remedy Recordings has been producing some of the world’s finest tech trance, energy driving, feet stomping dance music that I have ever heard. Their latest effort, courtesy of Polish producing phenom, Dave Schiemann, titled ‘Crackdown’, lays the smack on…..hard!
On the B side, we’re treated to a fantastic remixby Michael Dow (a staple on the Digital Remedy Roster), which takes some of the rougher edges in the original, polishes them off and tosses it through the wash to let it truly shine.
Read on for my full review and find out why Lee has once again outdone himself, and if you haven’t heard any of Dave’s previous work, you can find some here , here or here ! We’ve even included samples for you after the jump.

It’s been some time since I’ve taken the chance to review a release from one of my favorite labels of 2007, so here is my first of many for 2008 for Neuroscience Recordings. Run by Che Armstrong, the label made huge waves in ‘07 with releases from the likes of Michael Badal, Der Mytisk, Passive Progressive and so many other up and coming stars and 2008 is sure to deliver as well.
This release, from little known Spex, making his debut in 2006, provides an amazingly complex progressive trancer which shows that progressive does not equate to boring! The Electro Max Remix of the title track provides a slightly more club worthy version, and I’m sure we’ll be hearing it tearing up some of the housier/trancier clubs in ‘08! The last offering on the release, ‘Super Nova’, showcases a more eastern sound, with incredible synths and lush pads that simply take you away.

What a year 2007 was, at least it was very good to me, I’m no so ungrateful like some lads out there that are even saying that trance is perishing, and that every year things get worse and worse. From my point of view, trance is not dying, it is just evolving, changing, giving place to new forms of musical expressions.
Years ago, trance generated a new sub genre, progressive trance, in the beginning of this era, I couldn’t count the people who rejected this change, and now, it is one of the most influential sub genres of trance, if not the strongest one.
In 2007, we saw and heard how Electro influenced trance music, and the cycle of rejection repeated, but I can see this new form of trance growing stronger and there will be a point where there is going to be another sub-genre called Electro Trance. It is not official yet, but I’ve seen it used in the promo pools, it would not be surprising that both record labels and distributors adopt this influence as a new sub-genre, as soon after that being spoken by multitudes as such.
Trance will never die, I think I heard it from a talented music producer, who in fact is the main star of this chart, or maybe I also heard it from Lolo, or maybe I just keep hearing it from my heart.
As long as there is listeners around the world being exposed to trance, and the quantity of producers increases of every year keep producing quality music, I see it impossible that Trance will die anytime soon.

Hot off the press and arriving soon on MoonRising Records, Der Mystik & Mark Ottiz ‘ latest is an absolutely breathtaking piece of melodic, progressive trance. Based out of Montreal, MoonRising presents some of today’s hottest up and coming producers, and this release certainly slaps it on thick.
Along with two Original Mixes, ‘Piano’ and ‘Guitar’ Mixes, we’re treated to remixes by Tenthu , Der Mystik and Shifted Reality . Each mix relies heavily on the wonderful melodic base presented by Der Mystik and Mark, but each is then tweaked providing a slightly different feel.

Hailing from Brazil, Rodrigo Superti is part of a new wave of Trance producers who aim to fuse melodic elements with banging tech elements to create a new style of energetic and crowd pleasing music. Seeing his second release on Amplified Digital , Superti delivers a well balanced tech trancer, with more than enough energy and grit to elevate the crowd’s emotion at any point in the night. A dancefloor destroyer without a doubt!
On the Flipside, Charlie G presents a more subdued version, which highlights a more balanced energy level throughout by making use of more techno elements. Overall, a fantastic remix from the Amplified Digital virgin. Keep reading for samples and to find out which of the two tracks stood out for its high energy levels!

Global music producer “Der Mystik” and up and coming music producer “Alex Reliic” join forces to create “Paradise Beyond the Mirror” a refreshing melodic progressive trancer. The Colombia natives now residing in the sunny valleys of California are not only collaborator partners, they are brothers with totally different musical backgrounds and also are the founders of Real Legacy Records, the imprint presenting this release, being the first one of many to come from the company.
Lovers of Progressive Trance will be spoiled with 5th Dynasty and MxP Project interpretations, while Van Lazarus & Sergio Mix hailing from panama brings us a club banging tune with Tribal influences, also for those who like it energetic and dirty Der Mystik’s Radio Mix is there to provide.
