Canadian DJ/Producer Gabriel Batz has become a well known name amongst the EDM industry, making a name for himself with his soothing & melodic productions. Being rostered for remixes from the likes of Super8, Benz & MD, Nick Thompson, Icone & Static Blue, and much more, his style of progressive trance blended with uplifting melodies is one that has gotten his tracks included in the playlists of top notch DJs. Here, Gabriel brings to us his newest production “Inner Touch”, which has seen release on the UK label Monster Tunes. Joining Batz on the remix is Mike Shiver, adding his heavenly sound under his “Catching Sunrise” guise.

Original Mix

The majority of Gabriel Batz’ productions showcase his smooth and driving style of Progressive & Trance. Even though I am not the biggest fan of Progressive Trance, his ability to include an uplifting and euphoric mood is what makes his productions stand out. This track is no different, beginning with a running bassline and thick snare throughout the song. Various samples of a woman singing flutters across the first verse of the song aswell. The intriguing vocal adds a beautiful uplifting effect to what is the buildup, complimented nicely by the drum breaks and synthesized instruments. The main lead stands out very well with all the elements combined, with addition to some soft cloud effects as well as a more thickened bassline. Eventhough it’s not Batz’ best, it’s a good enough track to get a set going in the right direction.

Mike Shiver’s “Catching Sun” Mix

Mike Shiver is quite infamous for his heaven-like builds, examples including his single “Morning Drive” and his remixes for artists such as Kenneth Thomas, Markus Schulz, David West, and many others. He especially shows this for this track as he blesses it under his “Catching Sun” guise of remixing. The bassline stands out real well throughout the song, as well as the vocals, which seems as he has added an eternal-like reverb to it. In addition to this, his habit of looping a chopped piece of thus vocal really makes the song I believe. The usual Shiver pads used for the build, plus Mike’s interpretation of the melody displayed with his synths give the song a most godly sense as the build takes place. Shiver does the trick with this remix, giving the song a complete euphoric makeover.
