After a long break, Kaya Records presents their latest release: Sertac Kaya – Variation EP. Inspired by blippy 8 bit sounds, layered with deep and catchy Electro beats, this release certainly made my body move in no time! This a very lengthy EP, clocking in at just under 30 minutes for 3 tracks (+1 for the radio edit). The structure throughout the tracks is solid, but you won’t find any mind bending themes. An excellent way to get your fix of Electro, and a fantastic array of songs to build up a crowd, or simply carry energy throughout. I highly recommend ‘Spiritless Electro’, certain to cause an emotional shift in any listener, even though most elements in this EP lack ‘Variation’…

As Emalodic’s second official release, and a great follow up to ‘Never Tell What You Think’, Adam certainly had his work cut out for himself. This latest release, ‘Adam White Feat Liz Cirelli – One Temptation’, showcases the talented Liz Cirelli on the vocals. A name that isn’t common in the EDM scene, but a welcome change in vocal style. Her voice through out the many remixes on this release aren’t your usual fluffy happy vocals, but instead have an interesting edge that breathes a slight amount of turmoil beneath the surface. Her voice also provides a mildly nostalgic Trance Sound from the 99-02 era. The Original Vocal Mix is a more downbeat 130 bpm affair with all the trademark Adam White touches he adds to his productions. If the vocal isn’t something that suits you then there is an instrumental version which has already been smashing up the dance floors of world number 1 Paul Van Dyk, and is my current favorite as well. On remix duties, Adam has called upon the talent of UK producer Karl G who has made full use of the vocal and melodies and delivered an awesome remix for the more demanding dance floors. Floatation have turned in a full on 140 bpm affair ideal for those peak time moments. Finally, Adam’s new signing to Emalodic Noff has delivered a great remix adding his own unique twist to the original elements of the track. 26/03/2007: Correction to be made in regards to Liz Cirelli. Turns out she has been around the Trance scene for some years, lending her voice to ‘Sweetest Dreams’ by Corderoy. Continue reading for a full review.

Well, this is basically my first review of many for Tracklists.ca, and I wanted to begin with a banger. But this isn’t a single or a remix or anything of the sort, this is a complete album, and it’s being brought in a double CD from one of the most talented and up-and-coming producers/DJs in the Electronic Dance Music industry. John O’Callaghan might have just delivered one of the (and I’m taking quite the Leap of Faith by saying this) BEST underground albums of 2007 SO FAR. After working on numerous releases and remixes , plus experimenting under the guises of Joint Operations Centre, Lost World (along with Thomas Bronzwaer), & jumping into the studio with Bryan Kearney to release one of the best club anthems of 2006 [O'Callaghan & Kearney - "Exactly" (Discover 2006)], he still had enough time to dish up this cleverly made album for the masses.
